Il-ġlieda tal-bdiewa Maltin hija intrinsikament marbuta mal-ġlieda usa’ kontra l-isfruttament kapitalista u l-qerda ambjentali – Il-Bandiera tal-Maltin

Ħuti,

It-talbiet riċenti li saru mill-bdiewa Maltin jirriflettu l-kontradizzjonijiet profondi inerenti fis-sistema kapitalista, fejn l-interessi tal-bourgeoisie huma prijoritizzati fuq il-bżonnijiet tal-proletarjat u l-ambjent. Filwaqt li l-ilmenti tal-bdiewa kontra r-regolamenti tal-UE u l-politiki tal-importazzjoni huma validi, huwa imperattiv li dawn il-kwistjonijiet jiġu kuntestwali fil-qafas usa’ tal-isfruttament kapitalista u d-degradazzjoni ambjentali.

Is-sejħa biex jiġu mblukkati l-importazzjonijiet ta’ prodotti tal-ikel mhux tal-UE u jintalbu sussidji fuq fertilizzanti u għalf tal-annimali tenfasizza d-dinamika ta’ sfruttament perpetwata mis-swieq kapitalisti, fejn il-korporazzjonijiet multinazzjonali jagħmlu qligħ għad-detriment tal-produtturi lokali u tal-ambjent. Il-komodifikazzjoni tal-agrikoltura taħt il-kapitaliżmu wasslet għall-isfruttament kemm tax-xogħol uman kif ukoll tar-riżorsi naturali, bil-bdiewa sfurzati jikkompetu f’kundizzjonijiet irregolari armati favur l-interessi korporattivi.

Barra minn hekk, it-talba biex jitwaqqfu r-regoli tal-UE li jħeġġu l-art tibqa’ mhux maħduma tesponi l-kontradizzjonijiet inerenti tal-iżvilupp kapitalista, fejn l-art pubblika hija sagrifikata għal impriżi spekulattivi u t-tixrid urban, aktar milli tintuża għal agrikoltura sostenibbli u konservazzjoni ambjentali. Il-loġika kapitalista tal-massimizzazzjoni tal-profitt tipprijoritizza l-gwadann għal żmien qasir fuq is-sostenibbiltà fit-tul, li twassal għad-degradazzjoni tal-ekosistemi u t-telf tal-bijodiversità.

Barra minn hekk, il-kwistjoni tat-trobbija tal-gaġeġ tagħti eżempju tal-moħqrija inerenti fis-sistemi ta’ produzzjoni kapitalisti, fejn l-annimali huma ttrattati bħala sempliċi merkanzija li għandha tiġi sfruttata għall-profitt. Filwaqt li t-trobbija tal-gaġeġ hija tabilħaqq krudili u inumana, is-soluzzjoni ma tinsabx fil-perpetwazzjoni tal-istess loġika ta’ sfruttament permezz ta’ biedja fil-mixi fuq art pubblika. Minflok, irridu nirrakkomandaw l-abolizzjoni tal-forom kollha ta’ sfruttament tal-annimali u t-tranżizzjoni lejn prattiki agrikoli sostenibbli u bbażati fuq il-pjanti li jagħtu prijorità lill-benesseri ambjentali u tal-annimali.

Essenzjalment, il-ġlieda tal-bdiewa Maltin hija intrinsikament marbuta mal-ġlieda usa’ kontra l-isfruttament kapitalista u l-qerda ambjentali. Bħala soċjalisti irridu nkunu solidali mal-bdiewa fil-ġlieda tagħhom għal trattament ġust u ekwu fi ħdan is-sistema kapitalista, filwaqt li nirrakkomandaw ukoll it-trasformazzjoni rivoluzzjonarja tas-soċjetà lejn ordni soċjalista bbażat fuq prinċipji ta’ ġustizzja soċjali, sostenibbiltà ambjentali. , u l-ħelsien proletarjan.

Ejjew ningħaqdu fis-solidarjetà u niġġieldu kontra l-forzi oppressivi tal-kapitaliżmu, lejn futur fejn il-bżonnijiet tan-nies u tal-pjaneta jkunu prijoritizzati fuq il-profitti tal-ftit.

Comrades,

The recent demands made by Maltese farmers reflect the deep-seated contradictions inherent within the capitalist system, where the interests of the bourgeoisie are prioritized over the needs of the proletariat and the environment. While the farmers’ grievances against EU regulations and importation policies are valid, it is imperative to contextualize these issues within the broader framework of capitalist exploitation and environmental degradation.

The call to block imports of non-EU food products and demand subsidies on fertilizers and animal fodder underscores the exploitative dynamics perpetuated by capitalist markets, where multinational corporations profit at the expense of local producers and the environment. The commodification of agriculture under capitalism has led to the exploitation of both human labor and natural resources, with farmers forced to compete in an uneven playing field rigged in favor of corporate interests.

Furthermore, the demand to halt EU rules that encourage land to remain fallow exposes the inherent contradictions of capitalist development, where public land is sacrificed for speculative ventures and urban sprawl, rather than being utilized for sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation. The capitalist logic of profit maximization prioritizes short-term gains over long-term sustainability, leading to the degradation of ecosystems and the loss of biodiversity.

Moreover, the issue of cage farming exemplifies the cruelty inherent within capitalist production systems, where animals are treated as mere commodities to be exploited for profit. While cage farming is indeed cruel and inhumane, the solution does not lie in perpetuating the same exploitative logic through free-range farming on public land. Instead, we must advocate for the abolition of all forms of animal exploitation and the transition towards sustainable, plant-based agricultural practices that prioritize environmental and animal welfare.

In essence, the struggle of Maltese farmers is intrinsically linked to the broader struggle against capitalist exploitation and environmental destruction. As Marxist-Leninist-Maoists, we must stand in solidarity with the farmers in their fight for fair and equitable treatment within the capitalist system, while also advocating for the revolutionary transformation of society towards a socialist order based on principles of social justice, environmental sustainability, and proletarian liberation.

Let us unite in solidarity and struggle against the oppressive forces of capitalism, towards a future where the needs of the people and the planet are prioritized over the profits of the few.
