‘Netanyahu has led Israel into a Gaza quagmire’

TEHRAN – Iran’s foreign minister says the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip for nearly six months has clearly laid bare the anti-human nature of the Zionists and that the West is using human rights just as a “political plaything”.

Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a telephone conversation on Friday with Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Ziyad al-Nakhaleh.

“The six-month developments in Gaza has clearly put on display the anti-human nature of the Zionists and the support of the White House for genocide to the young generation and the people of the world, and the world has fully realized that defense for human rights and the rights of women and children is a ‘political plaything’ for the West,” Amir Abdollahian asserted.

Amir Abdollahian also praised great resistance of the Palestinians and the resistance front in the face of Israel’s atrocities and briefed Nakhaleh on Iran’s diplomatic efforts in support of Palestine.

The Iranian foreign minister also said world bodies should immediately send humanitarian aid to all areas in Gaza without any restrictions.

For his part, Nakhaleh described the resistance forces’ high military capabilities and high spirit as “very good” though six months have passed since Israel launched war on the coastal Gaza Strip.

He added unity among the resistance groups played a leading role against Israel.

“Netanyahu has reached the end of the line”

Also, in a telephone conversation with Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh on Thursday night, Amir Abdollahian said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has led the Zionist regime into a “quagmire” and now he has reached “the end of the line.”

“It is clear to the world that Netanyahu has reached the end of the line and is only struggling for his survival,” Iran’s chief diplomat remarked.

Almost six months into Israel’s war on Gaza, the Tel Aviv regime has failed to achieve its objectives of “destroying Hamas” and finding Israeli captives despite killing more than 32,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 74,188 others.

Haniyeh, for his part, elaborated on the latest political and field developments in Gaza and highlighted the high morale and capability of resistance fighters in the face of the Israeli regime’s war and killing machine, Press TV reported.

The senior Hamas official also said the humanitarian situation in Gaza, especially in its northern areas, is critical, underlining the need for the international community to send relief supplies to the besieged territory and confront the Israeli regime’s deliberate policy of famine and starvation.
